Trackscribe

Introduction

Trackscribe is an Android app, developed by Endtres, that keeps track of subscriptions, warranties, return windows and licences, and reminds you before they run out. This privacy policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. In short: everything you enter stays on your device and in backups you choose to keep. We run no servers that receive it, and we never see it.

Trackscribe has no accounts of its own and never asks for your name, email address or any other contact details. It contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following on your device. It is never sent to us:

• The items you track: their name, type, store, start and end dates, price and currency, billing cycle, reminder times and notes
• Photos you attach to an item, such as a receipt or warranty card
• Your subscription budget, and subscriptions you add to your Considering list
• Your settings, such as your currency, reminder time, reminder sound, appearance and haptics
• Whether you have bought Trackscribe Pro
• Downloaded exchange rates and company logos, kept so they work offline

Camera and Photos

You can attach a photo to an item by taking one with your camera or choosing one from your photos. The app only opens the camera or your photos when you ask it to, and only uses the photo you pick. A copy of that photo is saved in the app's own storage on your device. Photos are never uploaded by the app.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your device by Android itself. They are not sent from a server, and the app uses no push-notification service. Trackscribe asks for permission to show notifications and to set alarms and reminders so that they arrive on the right day and at the time you choose.

Information Sent From Your Device

Trackscribe connects to the internet for two things only. Neither request includes the items you track, your notes, your photos or anything that identifies you.

• Exchange rates. To convert prices charged in other currencies, the app downloads daily exchange rates from the free, open currency-api project, served through Cloudflare Pages and the jsDelivr network. The only information sent is your chosen currency code, such as ZAR.
• Company logos. To show a company's logo next to an item, the app downloads it from Logo.dev. The only information sent is the company's website, such as netflix.com. Each logo is downloaded once and then kept on your device. You can turn this off in Settings → Company logos.

As with any connection on the internet, these services receive your device's IP address to send the response back, and handle it under their own privacy policies:

Backups

• Automatic backup. If Google backup is turned on in your device's settings, Android may include Trackscribe's data in your device's backup to your Google account, as it does for most apps. That backup is handled by Google, and we cannot see it. Downloaded logos are left out, because they download again on their own.
• Backup files. Settings → Export backup creates a file with your items, photos, Considering list and settings, and hands it to the place you choose, such as Google Drive, email or a messaging app. The file is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere you trust. It goes only where you send it. Import backup reads a file you choose and restores it on your device.

In-App Purchases

Trackscribe Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. The payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google's terms, and we never see your card or other payment details. When the app opens, it asks Google Play whether your Google account owns Pro, so that a purchase is restored on a new device and a refunded one is removed. The app records on your device whether you have Pro.

Permissions

• Camera: to photograph a receipt or warranty card, only when you choose to

• Alarms and reminders: so reminders arrive at the exact time you set
• Internet: for exchange rates, company logos and Google Play purchases
• Vibration: for reminders and the app's light taps

Trackscribe does not access your location, contacts, microphone or Advertising ID.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not collect, store or receive your personal information.
• We do not sell or share any information about you.
• The app has no ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.

Data Retention and Deletion

• You can edit or delete any item in the app at any time.
• Uninstalling Trackscribe, or clearing its storage in your device's settings, removes everything it stored on your device.
• You can delete your device backups, including Trackscribe's, in your Google account under Google Drive → Backups.
• Backup files you exported are yours to keep or delete wherever you saved them.

Children's Privacy

Trackscribe is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
